The Office of Human Resources is honored to provide support to some 700 staff members and ensures accurate compliance with the administrative regulations of our collective bargaining units, NYS regulations, and proper administration of our personnel practices.
The Office of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing the evaluations of 700 employees; maintaining current certification records for all instructional and administrative staff; verifying fingerprinting compliance; the recruitment of qualified employees in teaching and non-teaching positions; processing course approvals; maintaining accurate records regarding teacher requirements for professional development; processing FMLA and leave replacements; employee retirement; ensuring compliance with Westchester Civil Service regulations; recruitment of substitute teachers and management of the automated employee attendance system, SubFinder; producing ID badges for employees; preparing various State reports, including BEDS; contract negotiations and grievances; processing insurance claims; the Employee Assistance Program; coordinating Mandated Reporting training for all staff; ensuring that contract vendors meet certification, fingerprinting and insurance compliance; providing support to building administrators, teachers and non-teaching staff; coordinating staffing for all schools, including the processing of placement letters; and managing various personnel matters.

The Katonah-Lewisboro School District recently received approval from the New York State Education Department to employ Severino D’Amico as a part-time business and technology teacher effective September 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014 at the salary of $46,105. Per the New York State Education Department, it is the District's obligation to inform taxpayers whenever an employee is hired while receiving a pension through the New York State Retirement System.
The Katonah-Lewisboro School District recently received approval from the New York State Education Department to employ Harry LeFevre as Interim Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources effective July 15, 2013 through June 27, 2014 at the salary of $185,000 pro-rated. Per the New York State Education Department, it is the District's obligation to inform taxpayers whenever an employee is hired while receiving a pension through the New York State Retirement System.
